Shi (シィ) is a character in the 2017 mobile game Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story: Magia Record. She was revealed to be released as a playable character on F4Samurai's fanfest stream alongside Yu, and was released on May 10th, 2024, alongside Iroha・Kuroe rather than Yu.

Etymology

Shi (シィ, shii) can refer to chinquapin, a tree in the beech family (which also includes oaks and chestnuts).

In a kanji spelling, shi (死) means death.

Trivia

She is designed by Gekidan Inu Curry, just like Yu.
Shi notably gains an extra set of arms when she transforms, which she uses to carry her pickaxes with.
Chinquapins are found in tropical and subtropical East Asia.
Her original release date could be read as March of 2024. However, for one reason or another, this was ultimately inaccurate.
It's possible, due to Yu's equine appearance and Shi's pale skin, that the two represent the Pale Rider of the apocalypse, with Yu being the steed and Shi being her rider.
- Shi in kanji (死) means death, which is the name of the Pale Rider.
A keloid scar is a scar that is covered in collagen, and forms a raised area. They are more common in people of color, and can ache and itch.
